Manuela Perteghella is the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Stratford on Avon. Manuela is currently a Stratford on Avon District Councillor, proudly representing the ward of Welford on Avon, where she lives with her family. She is a trustee of the local Scout group, a school governor and a director of a social enterprise supporting local artists. Manuela holds a doctorate in literature and translation. She has worked for several years as a university lecturer, published research in the field of European literature, and produced community arts projects.
After 13 years of this chaotic Conservative government, Stratford on Avon constituents deserve a local champion as their MP. Manuela is the credible, strong alternative to the Tories. “I will work tirelessly for my constituents, and only for my constituents. I will never take your vote for granted” Manuela says. “I will stand up for our towns and villages, and for our local businesses.”
An experienced community leader. Manuela is Parish Council Champion for the District, Vice-chair of both the Audit and Standards committee, and of the Climate Change Panel, where she ensures the Council implements its programme to increase the resilience of our communities to the impacts of climate change.
A hard-working politician. Manuela is already a hard-working councillor all year round, standing up for her constituents on several issues. She is a compassionate and caring politician, who listens and works with her constituents, tier of governments and agencies to help resolve issues.
A local champion. Manuela has campaigned on several issues affecting our communities, from tackling food insecurity to demanding action on sewage in our rivers, from protecting our green spaces and woods from inappropriate development to campaigning for better public transport in our rural areas.
